Service Level Agreements

 

Customers are often concerned with the committed response times received from service calls placed. RFL’s Help Desk maintains records of Client response-times to guarantee the committed level of support, as defined within each individual Service Level Agreement (SLA).

 

RFL offer a number of different, annual, contract options ranging from a basic 9 to 5 helpdesk service up to a comprehensive 24 hour site support service, including 24 hour telephone support, site callout and same day availability of spare components/units and repairs.

Start-up and commissioning

 

RFL have a qualified team of field engineers who provide a full on site commissioning service for telecoms products and systems.

 

Installation

 

RFL can provide various degrees of support at the installation stage. This can range from full installation services for equipment, fibre and systems, to assistance to other contractors who may be unfamiliar with the type of equipment being installed.

 

RFL has provided this service at both UK and overseas locations, and RFL engineers hold Health and Safety Certificates for the relevant industrial environments.

 

Repair

 

RFL offer a standard factory warranty for all products and systems supplied.

 

Warranty Repair

RFL products are supported by a return-to-factory warranty covering repair or replacement at the company’s discretion of failed modules and units at no cost to the customer, except the one way shipping cost to return the faulty part to RFL’s factory in Chippneham, Wilts. Each repair received at RFL is allocated a RMA number which is attached to the repair in order to track its progress. Repaired modules are returned to the customer, accompanied by a repair report detailing the fault and the remedial action taken.

 

Out of Warranty Repair

After warranty period has expired out of warranty repair is performed exactly the same as warranty repairs, except there is repair charge.

 

Repaired items will be covered under warranty for 6 months from date of repair.

 

Extended Warranty

Extended warranty is available on request.

This convenient single point of contact provides users with call logging, call progress and technical assistance.

All calls are logged with unique traceable reference number

Training

 

RFL offer formal training courses both at RFL’s facility and on site. The training courses consist of a combination of theory and practical experience set within both the classroom and the field. Contract specific courses can be tailor made to provide maximum understanding of operations and maintenance aspects of the equipment supplied.

RFL partners with Brugg Cables to offer Fibre Infrastructure Cabling solutions, integrating voice, video and data within the network environment. Brugg’s most advanced production plant in the industry, ensures the high-quality and competent production of power cables, special cables, fibre optic cables and process control systems to maximise network bandwidth and optimise network performance.

 

Specialised Skills and Training:

Electricity Sub-stations are tough locations in terms of health and safety, correct working practices and reporting procedures. RFL engineers have qualified the NGT training requirement which ensures accurate standards and safe working ‘on site’ practices are adhered to.

 

Equipment & Documentation:

RFL offers a complete service of installation, termination and testing using our own state-ofthe-art fibre equipment

 

Splicing

Fusion splicers for low loss multimode and single mode fibre splicing

 

Testing

Light source/power meter kits for accurate dB loss measurements. OTDR to produce dB loss traces and comprehensive test results.

 

Documentation

Full printed test sheets giving link dB losses are produced and verified by customer site manager before departure from site.

 

Response

RFL’s flexibility and rapid response to meet the needs of the customer means engineers can be deployed to site with minimal disruption to customer operations. As well as planned projects we offer site project management and commissioning services. Numerous projects have been managed and installed for both main contractors and Power Utilities directly by RFL.
